A steep hill covered from top to bottom with great pieces of rock, lying on the road between the great forest and the Quadling country. It is the territory of the armless Hammer-Heads, who lurk one behind every rock and shoot out their heads to hurl back anyone who tries to climb it.

Appears in 2 chapters, first in chapter 22, last in chapter 23.

What the story establishes

Acoustics and toneHostile and mocking: rough voices cry 'Keep back!', a head strikes like a cannon ball, and boisterous, harsh laughter breaks out from behind the rocks.
