A small, dead-end cave near the top of a long upward tunnel, where a ray of sunshine falls through a crack far overhead in the roof, tantalizingly close to the surface yet impossible to reach; the wanderers realize too late that the path ends here and there is no way back, trapping them until Dorothy summons Ozma's magic.
