Kingdom of the Nomes

Also known as the Underground World, the Nome King's domain, Nome King's dominions, his kingdom, the underground kingdom of the Nomes.

The underground domain ruled by King Roquat of the Rocks, Ruler of the Underground World, who commands the rocks and all they contain; home to many thousands of Nomes who labor at furnaces and forges making gold, silver, diamonds, rubies and emeralds hidden in the earth, and where the enslaved queen mother and her ten children of Ev are held, transformed into ornaments and bric-a-brac.

Appears in 3 chapters, first in chapter 57, last in chapter 67.

What the story establishes

AppearanceA vast underground cave extending for miles under the mountain, filled with glowing furnaces and forges where Nomes hammer precious metals and polish jewels; the walls are lined with thousands of silver and gold doors built into the solid rock, from which ranks of armored Nome soldiers can march out to fill the cavern.
